Athens: The Acropolis

Although there were literally thousands of other people trying to take in the site; I tried to image no one else there and what it must have been like when it was first built and in the height of Athenian history. Touching the marble and imaging the speeches, and platforms that leaders took on the site. To walk and stand on the smooth, slick, marble steps and to walk on the pebbles around the Acropolis, to be among thousands of years of history and to still be able to see and recognize the history before me, no words can adequately describe it.

Just in case there was any question as to where I am.

...and at night time. Beautiful.
